Twitter users praised Camille Vasquez for “single-handedly pushing modern feminism back 50 years and in less than two hours. “Historians will not be friendly to you.”
However, she has been supported by some who believe she is a role model for men who have been the victims of domestic abuse and a defender of their rights.
It remains to be seen whether Ms Vasquez’s popularity among Mr Depp followers translates into victory in court.
Halim Dhanidina, a criminal defense attorney and former judge, tells the Daily Beast that it’s difficult to tell whether the public’s response online is the same as that of individual jurors.
Dhanidina, on the other hand, believes that Ms Vasquez’s popularity indicates that the trial is a “uphill struggle” for Ms Heard.
That’s why Johnny Depp’s lawyer is more popular with the public than you are, he remarked. “It’s going to wreak havoc with your thinking.”
